I started my yoga practice by attending private sessions for back pain. While finding relief from pain, I also realized yoga was easing stress. The union of my body, mind and spirit created a craving for more. I began teacher training in 2007 simply to deepen my own yoga practice. In 2008, after receiving my certification, and without hesitation, I knew I would teach. My passion for yoga is practiced not only on the mat but also off the mat.
My teaching style is primarily Hatha flow with a concentration on alignment and relaxation. Each class begins with a centering to quiet the mind, leading into a practice of asana (poses) and pranayama (breathing), and concluding with savasana (deep relaxation). I have attended many workshops to strengthen and enrich my own yoga practice but also that of my students. Class sizes are limited which allows me to honor individual needs along with encouraging each student to explore their own practice.
